another PTI challenge card

This time, the challenge was a time trial one.  We had 7 minutes to gather all our supplies and then 17 minutes to make the card.  Sound easy?  Nup.  Halfway through, I nearly changed my mind and then I wasn't sure about the colours and I nearly changed things, but my time was already more than half gone and 17 minutes goes damn quick!!

HOWEVER.....I did fall down at one critical point.  I could only use SEVEN products and I ended up using more than that.  Bugger.  But I still like this so much I am whacking it up!!
So this is what came out at the end of the time.  And I'm pretty happy with it.  Like the previous card, I have a mix of PTI and SU goodies.

Why don't you challenge yourself to a time trial and see what comes out at the end of it.  It is a very good way to get you out of a stamping or creative bog!  Because you just have to knuckle down and get something done!

PTI materials:
  • Stampers Select White cardstock
  • Simply Chartreuse, Autumn Rose, Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado inks
  • Seed Packet die, Half and Half die
  • Half and Half stamp set, Year of Flowers stamp set, Garden Variety stamp set

SU materials:
  • Pink Pirouette, Raspberry Ripple and Old Olive cardstock
  • Old Olive bakers twine
  • Faceted button

New card for you

Yes, I know....it has been AGES since I have posted on here.  I am so slack, it's not funny.  And what makes this post worse, is because it is not even a catch up of family life......I am using this blog to enter a competition!

PTI (Papertrey Ink) is celebrating 7 years of being in business and after Stampin' Up!, they are a firm fav of mine.  There is going to be comps for the next week or so, and in an effort to score myself some PTI lovin', I am entering a few of them.

I PROMISE I will be back in the not too distant future to update on the farm and family.  We've had end of school last year, Christmas, Biddy's birthday, Apollo Bay holidays and now kids back at school.  Lots to share.

However, without further ado, here is my first entry for PTI.

I used the 3rd colour challenge listed and the last sketch challenge.  I mixed things up a bit with the addition of burlap trim and lace, using some spritz on the card mat and also breaking out the sewing machine to add a bit of extra oomph.  I quite like it.

From a PTI perspective, the products I used were:

  • Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate ink and Scarlet Jewel reinker (mixed with isocol to spritz the card mat);
  • Love Lives Here stamp set
  • Bitty Background Blocks stamp set

From a SU perspective, the products I used were:

  • Very Vanilla, Real Red and Crumb Cake cardstock
  • Burlap trim
  • Vintage lace trim

Other stuff:

  • Isocol running alcohol
  • Dark brown cotton and my trusty sewing machine!
